INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2023

“Yoga is the journey of the Self, through the Self, to the Self.” ― The Bhagavad Gita.

Amrita Vidyalayam Kozhikode celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21st to create awareness among students about the importance of yoga. The word “Yoga” is derived from the Sanskrit word Yuj, means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of the body and the universal consciousness. It is a practice which plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting one’s immune system.

The event began with special prayers. Our teachers explained the importance of Yoga in our daily lives. Students performed various yogasanas. Our students also performed elaborate yogasanas to celebrate International Yoga Day at the ashram. Our beloved Swamiji, SI Sri Vinayan, Dr. Sreekumar, Sri Raveendran Sir, and Principal Ma’am shared their experiences as well as  the benefits of Yoga. It was really a relaxing day for the students who love yoga and look forward to their yoga classes.
